How to Set Up DKIM for Flexmail?
DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) is an email authentication system designed to detect email spoofing. It allows organizations to take responsibility for transmitting a message while providing a mechanism to verify that the message was not altered during transit. DKIM uses cryptographic signatures and public-key infrastructure to verify that an email message has not been altered during transit and that it truly came from the claimed sender. Email senders can use DKIM to sign their messages by adding a DKIM-Signature header field to the messages. Email receivers can then use the public key published in the DNS to verify the signature and check that the message has not been tampered with.
How to Set Up DKIM for Flexmail?
- Go to your Flexmail account and log in.
- Select Settings > Sender Validation from the menu.
- Select the domain for which DKIM records need to be created, then click “Set up authentication” next to it.
Note: The domain names used in the above image are examples.
- Once the email authentication popup has appeared, look to see if the record’s box is red. (If the box is green, it means that the domain’s authentication has already been activated.)
- Select a choice from the DKIM section. By selecting the + icon, you can either use the pre-existing selector or create a new one. then select “save” from the menu.
- Click “Generate report” after using the DKIM selection. This will immediately download a TXT file
- Save the adjustments by pasting the DKIM records into your DNS (resource type: TXT; Name/Host: selector1. domainkey.mail.example.com).
- Allow your DNS to process these modifications for a while. Ideally, depending on your DNS hosting provider, it can take up to 72 hours.
You should be able to see your record highlighted in green next to your domain name on the email authentication page once your DNS has successfully processed the changes, signifying that your domain is now authenticated.
